About Us
After more than a decade of informal advocacy against abuse in the religious sector, Sihle Sibisi, the founder of Kwanele Foundation, formally registered the NPO organisation in August 2020.
Having suffered injustice and abuse from men of the cloth, she decided to speak out using social platforms from as early as 2007. To her surprise her advocacy was faced with perpetual and adamant denialism coupled with enthusiasm to protect the religious perpetrator by those who followed him.
This not only fuelled her more but created a need and a base to register a vehicle for charitable work and formally advocate for those whose voice has been silenced.
Kwanele foundation is a Non Profit organisation that seeks to be the voice to the voiceless, a beacon of hope to the hurting vulnerable and marginalised. We are a foundation that is paving and spearheading a global legacy of addressing gender based violence at the hands of religious leaders, in the church. We seek to validate the voice and stories of the oppressed and assist them to start or continue their journey of wholeness.
